Automation and Robotics Solutions

We enable factories to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of products with minimal human intervention.

Automation and Robotics Solutions

Our automation and robotics solutions comprise standalone automated equipment, production line systems as well as smart factory systems. Leveraging on our engineering and machining capabilities, we manufacture automated equipment and production line systems to support the production operations of our customers in various industries, particularly the semiconductor, E&E and telecommunications industries. The automation and robotics solutions allow customers to automate manufacturing, testing and warehousing processes, thereby contributing to better consistency and quality of products, while minimising dependency on human labour.

Today, it is the era of IR4.0 in which networked, intelligent systems operate in a smart factory applying various forms of automation and robotics solutions. Automation and robotics solutions entail a manufacturing facility that uses automation and robotics solutions in its production processes to improve production efficiency as well as to address reducing manpower requirements.

Such automation and robotics solutions also can also apply a variety of technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, cloud computing and the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), which connect the digital and physical worlds in order to automate and monitor an entire production process, from supply chain management to manufacturing tools and even the work of individual operators on the production floor.

In line with the Government’s emphasis on IR4.0, we have ventured into the provision of automation and robotics solutions, including providing ASRS and AGV solutions to our customers mainly operating in the semiconductor industry. We also incorporate the use of vision systems and RFID as part of our smart factory system solutions.

ASRS consists of various computer-controlled systems that automates the placing and retrieving of loads from defined storage locations. The major components of an ASRS are its robotics, programmable logic control (“PLC”) hardware, metal structures as well as corresponding software to operate the ASRS. The metal structures required for the ASRS are manufactured by our Group, while we procure the robotic components as well as PLC hardware. We perform PLC programming customisation, installation and testing based on our clients’ requirements. The various components are then delivered to our clients’ manufacturing facility for onsite final assembly, as well as integration of the ASRS with our clients’ warehouse management system and final testing prior to handover to our clients.

AGVs are mobile robots that are used in industrial applications to move and transport items in production, warehouse and distribution centres without manual intervention or permanent conveying systems. The movement of AGVs are aided by sensor technology, by way of following along marked lines on the floor, or use radio waves, vision cameras, magnets or lasers for navigation. The major components of an AGV are its robotic arm, PLC hardware, metal frames, battery as well as corresponding software to operate the AGV. The mechanical fixtures of the AGV are partly manufactured by our Group prior to integration into electro-mechanical components. We also procure the robotic arms, batteries as well as PLC hardware for final integration with the electro-mechanical components at our manufacturing facility. We further program the AGV’s PLC software. The AGVs are then delivered to our clients’ manufacturing facility for integration with our customer’s manufacturing process requirements. We perform final testing prior to handover to our clients.

Standalone automated equipment refers to specific standard equipment or customised built equipment to perform specific roles or tasks. Our automated solutions comprise standalone automated equipment as well as production modules which include, amongst others, automated spring machines, moulding machines, automated pin insertion machines, locker scanning system, vision camera inspection system, automated clamping heat staking machines, automated cutter jig, desktop glue dispenser robot, ultraviolet curing conveyor system, automated clamping jig, turntable ultraviolet curing system.

We design and assemble production lines systems for our customers in the semiconductor and telecommunication industries. Our production line systems comprise multiple automated equipment that are incorporated into the manufacturing lines of our customers.

Our expertise:

(i) Conceptualising and designing suitable production systems to carry out the

required operational processes;

(ii) Software programming and fabrication of metal parts; and

(iii) Integration, testing and commissioning of modules to form a complete production system.

We are commissioned to provide complete production systems when our customers have new production facilities and/or have new product versions to manufacture and/or require machinery and system upgrade or technological innovation in their processes. We design, fabricate, integrate and install complete production systems to cater for manufacturing of various products including semiconductor, memory and storage devices as well as telecommunication equipment and components.
